"La casa di R" is the result of a profound renovation and energy requalification intervention which involved an apartment inside an old stone building located in the Calenzano woods, near Florence. In fact, the house was in a state of advanced deterioration, with problems of water infiltration, rooms with low height, and a general state of neglect that hid its potential.
The project involved a general reorganization of the floor plan of the apartment, in order to move the living area and reconnect it to the external spaces, as well as a complex series of interventions aimed at sanitization and energy efficiency, with the insulation of all internal surfaces and the installation of a heat pump system powered by photovoltaic roof panels. Interventions were also carried out on the facade in order to increase the window surface and maximize natural light in the interiors.
