In the small village of Vaiano, just outside Prato, a renovation of a rural barn, transformed into a comfortable home. The barn, dating back to the seventeenth century, was part of one of the seven historic farms of the Villa del Mulinaccio, a country estate that belonged to the Strozzi family. Initial conditions saw the structure abandoned for years, with the roof collapsed and the old stone walls in poor condition.
The project provided for the total renovation of the building with complete reorganization of the interior including the creation of a new floor interpiano, and it was an opportunity to bring to light architectural features that have disappeared or been tampered with over time, and to include new contemporary elements.
