CASA FLOVVER

Casa FLOVVER, home of floral designer Barbara Mattei – FLOVVER – is located in Rome, in the Ostiense district, inside a 1930s building situated between Ostiense Station and the Pyramid of Cestius. The renovation project, overseen by Manuela Tognoli, followed one guiding principle: deep respect for the apartment's original identity. Together with the owner, it was decided to enhance the historical elements through careful conservative restoration. The decorated terrazzo floor, found under a layer of vinyl flooring, was restored and completed in the missing areas with contemporary materials. Doors, windows and decorated glass were restored with their original accessories, bringing back to life the elegance of the period.

The project includes two contemporary cinnamon-coloured elements: the kitchen and the shower niche in the bathroom. The kitchen, custom-designed and built by a carpenter, echoes the tones of the terrazzo floor in the living area, combining them with the stainless steel of the worktop for a contemporary effect that is in harmony with the context. Above, a white storage structure reaches up to the ceiling.
